My interest in the architecture and design of older houses began in childhood and has developed substantially during the renovation and restoration of my own house. The interior of this 1925 bungalow was substantially altered by previous owners so I attempted to return the house to its original design using the remaining architectural elements as templates and materials appropriate to the 1920s. During this experience I undertook studies in a graduate program for interior design as a means of changing to a different career, I realized, however, that I enjoyed the manual labor involved in restoration and renovation along with the creativity of historic design, so I started Four-Square Construction in 2007 with the goal of integrating those two interests. Since then I've been developing and perfecting my craftsmanship skills and utilizing my design experience to preserve the historic homes of the Washington DC area. I've been proud to serve the gay community in and around DC and I'm looking forward to continuing to do that in the future.
